Hi,
From the manual, friction coefficient information can be integrate into the geo.slf file, so I use this way, try to set up the model with space variant friction coefficient, in cas file,
LAW OF BOTTOM FRICTION = 3
was given, then in geo*.slf, I give two domain, BOTTOM and FRICTION COEFFICIENT( with the values using strikler's law), when I run the case, it prompt that FRICTION COEFFICIENT was not given, so I add the line
FRICTION COEFFICIENT = 40.
in the cas file, but in this case ,only the uniform value of 40 can be read into model, the FRICTION COEFFICIENT field in the geo*.slf file was not read in.

So, what I wonder is that if the Friction coefficient can be read from geo*.file?(By the way, I know the method by giving the friction coefficient through a few zones, I just want to know if the node-by-node method is available?)

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

everthing is correct besides that the name of the variable in the selafin file is not FRICTION COEFFICIENT but BOTTOM FRICTION.
In BlueKenue you can add a variable by clicking with the right mouse button on the selafin object -> Add variable.

Hope it helps,
Clemens

Hi Clemens,
Thank you very much, it's right there, the friction field has taken effect.

best regards,

viola
