Hello all!

i´ve just installed TELEMAC with the automatic installer and the parallel version is not working. I´ve tried the single processorand it´s working so the problem is only with parallel simulation.

Does anyone have a clue? I´ve attached the error message to help.

Thank you.
Marcus

Hello

It is possible that your MPI service (smpd) is not running in the background and/or that your username password has not been registered with the service.

Often your user/password is asked for the first time you use the smpd. Sometimes you have to manually register the user/password with the associated MPI utility.

Hope this helps,

Sébastien.

Dear Sebastian,

Yes, that was the issue. I found in the forum the answer. Thank you very much.

For futere reference for anyone who sees this post, this is what I did to solve the problem. Type it in the prompt window.

smpd -install
mpiexec -remove
mpiexec -register (giver user name and password)
mpiexec -validate (it should return SUCCESS)
smpd -status (it should return 'smpd running on <hostname>')

This means that the user/password you gave to mpiexec -register is invalid.
You need to give him your windows password.
Sometimes in some companies that is not always the one you log with for example if they are using a passwword storer.
