Hello,

I am working with telemac2d version v6p3r0 and it is sometime now that I am facing the same problem JUST FOR TRANSPORT both with open boundary and with sources, with the liquid boundary file.
For example, if I impose that the tracer must have a certain value for a determinate period and afterwards go back to zero, the tracer remains constant to the given value until the end of the simulation. I tried already everything and I cannot make the tracer to go back to zero.
My collegue has version 5.9 and my files work well on his pc, can be a problem of my version? Do you have any suggestion?

Thank you in advance.

Hi
It seems to me that some changes was made in the liquid boundary file and or in the source file for the tracer concentration in v6p1 or v6p2...
Try to have a look in this direction

Regards
Christophe

Post your files (at least the steering file and the liquid files)
Maybe we could check them

Are you sure the tracer increase correctly according to these file and stay at the maximum?
When I modified the source code to implement the management of tracer in the liquid file I introduce a new numbering with 2 index (one for the boundary, one for the tracer)
You probably should have something like TR(2,1) instead of TR(2)

Hope this helps

It helped! I changed it and it worked! Thank you!
p.s. I did not know that on eshould give also for the open boundaries TR(2,1) and not just TR(2)

Hello,

There must be some misunderstanding, as I see no source in your steering file. We are only dealing here with liquid boundaries and Christophe is right, the liquid boundaries file must say e.g. TR(2,1) to tell the boundary number and the tracer number. Unfortunately I cannot find any example in 2D but there is one in Telemac-3D test cases : called source.

You must also think that your prescribed values are obeyed only if the discharge is entering the domain. When a discharge is exiting the domain, the local value of the tracer is taken and the precribed value discarded.

I hope there is an explanation of your problem in all this...

With best regards,

Hello,
I have the same above conditions (Telemac2d v6p3) and the same problem, the tracer value is always zero. It took me some time struggling to identify the cause but it’s no use.
My cas and liquid boundary files are herein attached.
I’ll be grateful for any help,
Regards,
FEZAI

Hello,

It is OK, I've been missing to apply a value of 5 to LITBOR in the conlim file. The whole question came from the fact that Fudda (1.3 RC7) bugs with tracers and that I needed to continue proceeding manually to introduce tracers.

I hope this helps anyone who comes accross a similar question.

FEZAI
