Hello,

My research group recently decided to update our servers to the 7.0 version, but, as we have some researches initiated last year still running, we kept the 6.3 version also installed.

Due the upgrades of the FV module on parallel version I am willing to use the 7.0, but this is the message that I get when starts a simulation.

Running your CAS file for:
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
+> configuration: ubugfopenmpi
+> root: /home/model/opentelemac/v7p0r0
+> version v6p3
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

I understand that the program is calling its libraries at the 7.0 folder, so despite it says "version v6p3" I will get the routines/procedures implemented on the 7.0 libraries.

Am I right?

I also would like to know how to call the root 6.3 instead the 7.0, and how to launch the version v7p0 instead v6p3.
Just to avoid any "funny" things that could be possibly done by mixing the versions

Thanks in advance.

Marcus

Hi,

not sure but maybe in the config file (systelcfg) you just didn't update the line which version you use.
___
....
[general]
root: /home/cle/opentelemac/v7p0r0
version: v7p0r0
language: 2
...
___

You can install as many telemac versions as you want.
When you launch a Telemac simulation you just have to provide an additional flag specifying the path to the config file. With this you decide which version you want to use.
-f path to config file
-c configuration used in the config file (not necessary if you have compiled only for one configuration)
e.g.
python runcode.py telemac2d -f /home/cle/opentelemac/v7p0r0/configs/systel.cfg -c ubugfopenmpi

Hoe this helps,
Clemens

Hello,

Following your tips we were able to launch simulations with both versions. And also the systel file had a typo saying v6p3 instead v7p0.

Really thanks!

Additionally, we noticed that by default TELEMAC will always launch the latest version.

Cheers
