Hello,

I am running telemac 2D on windows. I get the following error when the simulation starts
READING ERROR IN THE BOUNDARY
CONDITIONS FILE
AT LINE 1

POSSIBLE CAUSES
1. WINDOWS CARRIAGE RETURN ON UNIX
2. INFORMATION ON PARALLELISM MISSING

It seems to be a problem with the CLI file. I am running simulation on a single processor. So the second cause will be ruled out. Regarding first cause, I would like to know how that can become a cause.? What do I need to overcome this issue.?

Thanks

Regards

Hi,

How did you generate the boundary conditions file? The first cause ( WINDOWS CARRIAGE RETURN ON UNIX) probably has something to do with the fact that the 'new line' character is different in the Linux and Windows operating systems. DOS uses carriage return and line feed ("\r\n") as a line ending, and Linux/Unix uses just line feed ("\n").

Using an advanced text editor such as Notepad++, you can visualize the end-of-line characters (View>Show Symbol>Show End of line) and convert between Linux and Windows (Edit>EOL conversion). I think this can also be done in Total Commander, for example.
