Hi,
If i need to use STILL WATER as initial condition, where u = 0 , v = 0 , elevation = 0, the initial condition KEYWORD to be used would be ZERO ELEVATION for free surface. Which KEYWORD is used for applying the rest of the conditions u =0 and v = 0 condition?

Thanks in advance
Sathya

Hello,

By default the velocities are always initially set to zero, if it is not the case you have to change and implement it in subroutine condin.f.

Hello,

Which of the following is unknown according to the depth equation used in TELEMAC2D ?

1)H=h+eta
2)h=H-eta

where
eta is the free surface elevation
H is the total depth
h is the initial depth

Hello,

as initial condition you can provide the initial Free Surface Elevation or the initial Water Depth. Sorry, but not quite understanding the meanings of the your equations and the "total depth".

If you provide the initial Free Surface elevation, Telemac-2D will compute in the first step / initialize the Water Depth = initial Free Surface Elevation - Bottom Elevation, since Telemac-2D solves for the unknown velocities U and V and water depth H.

Best regards,
Clemens
