open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

Hey,
I am pretty new to TELEMAC2D and have never changed or edited a fortran file.
I am investigating the influence of wind on the hydrodynamics and salinity in a river. Therefor, I want to display the imposed wind velocity and direction. The default settings only give you the possibility to display the wind along the x and the y axis. I want to display the scalar wind velocity. The only thing I found through the reference and user manual was, that I have to edit the PRERES file, but I dont know HOW. Can anybody help me?

before going into the source file modification, you should ask yourself what you want really.
If it's just for display, as you noticed, you have the possibility to two components of the wind in the result file. Then it's not very difficult to compute the scalar velocity from the two components...
Fudaa or BK allow you to easily compute this value.
The computation of scalar wind is similar to the computation of flow velocity...
