open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

Hello everyone,

I just encountered this problem and cannot figure out the reason, I wonder if anyone have similar experiences on this?

I am using V7p0r1 on Window7, the parameters below were used to add wind forcing:
WIND : YES
OPTION FOR WIND = 1
SPEED AND DIRECTION OF WIND = 5.0; 0.

I compared the velocity results with the one without wind (other configurations unchanged), and found that the two runs were exactly same, which means the wind did not take effect on the velocity field. But I outputed the X,Y (windx,windy) and found that these variabels have the exact value I set up for them. So I am totally confused and do not konw where the problem is.

You just need to add :

COEFFICIENT OF WIND INFLUENCE : ...

Refer to the documentation to have formulas depending on wind velocity, but a normal value is around 1.D-6 (unlike our example where we misleadingly put 1.D-3 to get a strong effect).
