Hi,

Does any one have a simple fortran code or any other software piece to read the Telemac2d V7.1 unsteady result file (slf) to do some other calculations ?

I have some unsteady result files which need to be processed for calculating wetted area for a specified depth ranges for each hour of a year.

I noticed a post (Hong) with a Fortran code as attached here (readres2.f). This cannot read the slf file.

Regards

Hello,

I think you can use the typical postprocessing software like BlueKenue (freeware), Tecplot (commercial) or Paraview (freeware) for doing such things. In Tecplot or Paraview you have of course a complete scripting environment.

Another way is to use the selafin parser and the associated very capable scripts written in Python. They are in ...\v7p1r0\scripts\python27 With them you have all the possibilities and they are really fast!

Have a look also in the forum topics www.opentelemac.org/index.php/kunena/scripts to get some idea.

Best regards,
Clemens

Hi,

Here is a simple code that reads a serafin file and write it in ascii.
You should be able to use it for what you want.
The code need to be compiled with the option -fconvert=big-endian with gfortran.

Hope it helps.

Hi Clemens,

I'd like to use the provided Python scripts to do some post-processing of 3D runs. For example, creating 2D cross-sections of temperature, velocity, etc. Do you (or anyone else) know if documentation exists for these scripts? Or which scripts I should start looking at to do what I need?

Thanks,
Ben
