Hello Telemac users,

I need to simulate the flow with Telemac 2D, considering 3 nodes that will play the role of an outfall. I placed the nodes on the boundary of my domain, I have the x and y coordinates and the discharges. I thought about using the SOURCE command with positive discharge as follow:

ABSCISSAE OF SOURCES = 324249.594, 324238.625, 324243.156
ORDINATES OF SOURCES = 2791628.000, 2791611.5, 2791620.5
WATER DISCHARGE OF SOURCES = 25.05, 25.05, 25.05
VALUES OF THE TRACERS AT THE SOURCES = 100, 100, 100

But when I run the model I have an error (please see the snapshot attahced). I believed that I won't have to change anything in my Fortran file and just have to add the coordinates and the discharge.

Can someone tell me what I am doing wrong here ?

Thank you

Regards,

Dadou

Hello

You need to use a semi-colon (;) for the separation of abscissae and ordinates.
Moreover, if you want to represent an outfall, you need to introduce negative values for discharges.

With my best regards

Thank you, such a rookie mistake.

I have another question, my model seems to crash and I think it is because the time of the release equals the starting time of the model so the model doesn't have time to be stable.

Does telemac2d has a keyword to add in the steering file to give the source point a time to start releasing the flow?

I hope I am clear

Thank you

Mehdi

Hi

There is no keywords for that in telemac.
But you could manage the discharge of your sources through a dedicated file where you could manage a discharge which vary in time.
Hope this helps
