Hi all,

I'm having a problem installing TELEMAC. For some reason after compiling the source code I get the following error (see attachments) meaning the installation doesn't complete correctly, does anyone know what the problem may be or how to fix it?

Error2_2016-04-29.png

A number of my colleagues have successfully installed it without issue so we're not really sure what the problem is, any advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance
Jon

Hello Jon,

If i recall correctly, that screenshot relates to the start of compilation just after the downloading of the source code in the svn repository. My final check list for the telemac installation was:
  • Verify you have admin or the appropiate permissions
  • Download, before the opentelemac installation, Svn tortoise with command line (you have to check it during the installation)
  • Do a fresh install: delete the existing "c:/opentelemac-mascaret"
  • Check in your path and system variables that there are no other ming64w in the path, or other python distributions and (temporarily) remove them.Make a backup first...
  • Start the process of the telemac installation once again

I have been using telemac for a short time, but i'll try to help you as much as i can.

Regards,

José D.

Hi José,

Thank you, in the end I think the problem was that I had an existing MINGW folder in my C drive. I deleted it (after backing up), uninstalled all the prerequisites and did a clean install which worked.

I wouldn't have realised that was the issue so you've saved me a lot of time and trouble, thanks again!
