Hello,

My simulation is running but there is a major error that is the volume is 0 and so is the flux entering and exiting, that is, 0

File Attachment:

File Name: Newfolder.zip
File Size: 431 KB

. Can someone please guide me what should I do I am new to Telemac.

Any Help would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Hello,

The initial volume is 0 because you ask for depth = 0 in your initial conditions. Then it seems that your boundary 1 is the exit and boundary 2 is the entrance (order of appearance in the boundary conditions file), so the prescribed discharges should be 0.;10. instead of 10.;0. and the prescribed elevations must be swapped also. However the program will certainly ask you then to put some water at the entrance, or to give a prescribed depth also (5 5 5 instead of 4 5 5) for a few time steps at the entrance, otherwise the prescribed discharge at an entrance with no water will trigger very large or infinite velocities. It depends on what is your case, but probably you must think of other initial conditions.

Thank you so much Sir.

I did all the changes that you suggested. But now there is another error that tells me to give a velociy profile which I have given as 1;1.

My case is of a reservoir. where top boundary 1 is with flowrate and the bottom boundary is with elevation.

Is this the error that you just mentioned of large or infinite velocities?

Hello,

Yes, this is what I announced in the previous post, prescribing a discharge on a dry boundary. You must then think of the initial conditions, is the reservoir really dry at the beginning ? If not try to put a realistic initial condition, if yes then your flow is supercritical at the entrance and you should give also the depth.
