Hello José,
Sediments in reservoirs are generally fine cohesive sediments, with settling phenomena, and there are very low velocities of flows which are highly 3-dimensional. This would be something for Telemac-3D, with suspended sediment represented in 3D, and bedload transport, if any, done by coupling with Sisyphe. This is what we are currently working on for EDF applications. The general problem is that you need to refine a lot the mesh near the bottom. So far our applications are done with simpler 1D models supplemented with a lot of expertise.
We also work on settling basins and compared measurements to Telemac-2D and 3D. It also seems that 3 dimensions are necessary. Depending on your geometry you can try as a guess work Telemac-2D coupled with Sisyphe, including suspended sediment in Sisyphe. This would require that you play with a few Sisyphe test cases before, to understand what are the main options and sensitive choices (bedload transport laws, boundary conditions, rigid beds, etc.).
Que te vaya bien !
Jean-Michel
