Hello,

I have a question about bed-load formula, how to know, which formula is more suited to a model?
in my case I work on uniform and non-cohesive sédiment, whose particle size is 0.1 mm, 0.6 mm and 1 mm. the flow is steady (no wave action). So i used this formula of Meyer-Peter, Einstein-Brown , Engelund-Hansen and van Rijn, but i noticed that i don't obtain the same evolution! and sometimes there is no evolution!

Thank u
Aicha.

Hello,
Please take a look to the attached document. It's an extract of Marcelo Garcia's book on sediment transport (Chapter 2). He summarizes some of the common sediment transport formulas and their domain of validity.
This kind of information can be found also in many of the published books on the topic.

Best wishes,

Pablo
