TOPIC: River bed morphology simulation

River bed morphology simulation 4 years 8 months ago #35518

Dear all,

Thanks to help from many experienced users here, I finally got over many difficulties and puzzled at initial stage, and I tried more on the simulation of sediment transportations and river bed morphology. Recently, I have been trapped again at the task. When I imposed a solid discharge as a sediment inflow entering the domain, I got erosion and morphologic change value of 0 everywhere in the domain(as shown in the attached figure). So I hope to get some suggestions to put things right.

Thank you in advance!!

Hello,
Please find below some tips and comments that could help you.
(1) as you're imposing the value of the solid discharge in the cli file, you can remove the keyword PRESCRIBED SOLID DISCHARGES in your cas file.
(2) Did you check that the forcing conditions of your problem will motorize the mobility of the sediment grain size that you're imposing (0.025 m)?
(3) It seems that you want to solve bedload and suspended load at the same time. I suggest to proceed step-by-step (first bedload, the suspended load, the both) for such a complex application.
(4) Remove unnecessary keywords in the sisyphe's cas file: CRITICAL EVOLUTION RATIO = 9999999., LAW OF BOTTOM FRICTION = 4, TIME STEP = 20, ...

Hope it helps,

Pablo

PS: thanks for let us known, I'll try to delete the multiple posts.
