Simulate the erosion process of sediment replenishment in TELEMAC 2D 2 years 8 months ago #40044

Dear the staff of TELEMAC group,

I am a PhD student of Kyoto University and I am currently working on how to utilize the TELEMAC 2D to simulate the sediment replenishment works in Japan.
In Japan, we usually place amounts of sediment as a stockpile at the river bank side (as shown in the attached photo). The sediment will be eroded and transported downstream when the flood comes.
I am wondering if TELEMAC 2D can simulate this erosion process of sediment replenishment. It is very similar to the process of bank erosion.
If possible, can you recommend to me any modules we can use in the TELEMAC? Thank you very much for your help.

Regards
LIN

Hello,

yes, you can use TELEMAC-2D coupled with the sediment transport model GAIA.
By the way, nice application.
