I can't promise any help, but I was curious and searched the source code for "LAYER CASE 4" and found it in $HOMETEL/sources/sisyphe/layer.f ; the relevant code seems to be changing the grain size fractions in the active layer. The CASE 4 throwing an error because it's detecting that a grain size fraction is greater than 100% or less than 0% (which is physically impossible). It therefore seems there is some numerical instability linked to a grain size fraction overdepositing or overeroding.
I would recommend attempting to recover the simulation files using
this procedure and seeing if there are any weird points with an exceptionally high or low fraction of a certain class, perhaps near the boundary.
Again, I'm not sure that I can help any further, but do try looking at your intermediate results and seeing if anything is wrong.
