Wave effects in SISYPHE 12 years 7 months ago #4286

Hello,

In our model we are also trying to bring in the wave effects. We are taking a simple case just to check the effect of the waves. The manual tells us for the simple case to specify the parameters (wave height, wave period and wave direction) in the Fortran file condim_sisyphe.f. So we are not going to use a previous TOMOWAC simulation. So the thing SISIPHE has to do is to calculate the wave induced bottom friction. The bottom friction will be bigger because of the waves. When we simulate, there is no change in the bottom shear stress when we analyze it in Blue Kenue. We don't know how this is possible, because we put in our steering file wave effects = YES and we adapted the subroutine condim_sisyphe.f

We attached the subroutine and the steering file. Can someone help us?

Thank you

Hello,

In your condim_sisyphe, nothing is specified ( velocity and wave are set to zero???). So please check that this is the correct file?

You may also want to check that the hydrodynamics is correctly imposed by adding to your output variables the waves height and period('W' and 'X').

Best regards, Catherine
