Hi all,

Is it necessary to create a new Geometry file for any run with COMPUTATION CONTINUED. i.e. to copy the BOTTOM mesh from the last timestep of previous runs' result file to a new slf file?

It seems surprising that I have to do this, so wondered if maybe there could be a keyword or something that I am missing?

Whether I use the original geo file (assuming erosion/deposition defined by PREVIOUS SEDIMENTOLOGICAL COMPUTATION FILE would be accounted for), or if additionally I specify the previous runs' result file as the GEOMETRY FILE, the computation just uses the original bed levels.

Works OK if, as above, I copy the final timestep's BOTTOM grid into a new slf file and define this as GEOMETRY FILE.

Thanks,
Dougal

Hello,

In principle when you do a computation continued with coupling with Sisyphe, Telemac-2D will give the bottom to Sisyphe, so the bottom should be in the results file on Telemac-2D side. If you look at line 667 of subroutine telemac2d.f, it says that if present, the bottom will be taken in the previous computation file, so I would hint that you did not ask for the bottom in this file. If it is not this, we'll have to look closer...

Hello Jean-Michel,

Thank you - exactly right. To get the correct bed for a continued Sisyphe run you need to include VARIABLES FOR GRAPHIC PRINTOUTS = B in the previous Telemac-2D run.

Hello Dougal,

Well. So in the next version I'll check that the bottom is duly here when there is a coupling with Sisyphe, thank's for your remark. The only drawback is when you want to settle hydrodynamics before starting coupling, then it will ask also the bottom.
