Hello, everyone.

Could anyone tell me SISYPHE could represent the vertical profile of suspended sediment concentration or not, please?

Thanks in advance.

Hello,

The answer is no. The suspended sediment in Sisyphe is only 2D. To have vertical variations you must use Telemac-3D coupled with Sisyphe, Telemac-3D does the suspended sediment in 3D and Sisyphe does the bedload.

With best regards,

Hello,
to complete Jean-Michel's remarks, the validation test "016_Rouse" of Telemac-3d shows an example of the vertical distribution of suspended sediment (Rouse profile) computed in a 3D flow field by Telemac-3d.

All the best,

Pablo

Thank you, jmhervouet and Pablo.

Your explanation made me know more about what Sisyphe can do.

The mannual for Telemac3d I have is v5.8.

Is the latest version in English is available?

The English version of Telemac-3d version 6.2 will be published very soon. The French version is already available.

Dear jmhervouet ,

Could you please tell me if I use the method you said in former posts, that is, coupling Telemac-3D with Sisyphe to let Telemac-3D do the suspended sediment in 3D and Sisyphe do the bedload to simulate the 3-d distribution of suspended sediment, will any difference exist between the results and that from the real 3-d suspended sediment simulation model?

And what's the shortcoming of this practice? For example, which processes can't be taken into account at present?

Will Sisyphe be extended to 3D in the near future?

Dear jmhervouet ,

Based on your advice in this post,it seems that vertical distribution of suspended sediment can be simulated both by coupling or not coupling with SISYPHE.

Is this right?

Hello,

If you couple Sisyphe with Telemac-3D, you may have the suspended sediment done by Telemac-3D, if you do not couple, it will be done by Sisyphe in 2D;

Thanks,jmhervouet.

I saw the validation case Pablo told me(016_Rouse). SISYPHE was not coupled with telemac3d(seen in the case file).

But the vertical variation was still done.

By doing so, it seems that no erosion or deposition is considered on the bed boundary.

But if coupled with SISYPHE, the E and D and bed evolution can be taken into account.

Right?

Dear jmhervouet ,

Could you please tell me how to define the source of suspended sediment in telemac2d?

I set the WATER DISCHARGE OF SOURCES=0,then the sediment will not be calculated.

But if I dont't use the keyword "WATER DISCHARGE OF SOURCES", an error will occur.

Best wishes

Hong
