Dear community

I want to create a sel file and write into it wind information every 300 seconds( let's say).
I use my mesh file and I am adding wind variables from Blue Kenue.Although I can modify the results and the number of time steps, the file cannnot take the time step. As a result, the new file can be animated in Blue Kenue but time is 00:00:00 even though step and frame are working.

Many thanks and regards,
Nikos

Hi
I never tried to use Blue Kenue for this kind of selafin generation so i'm not sure this is possible.
The only point which seems to be messing is the time information of the result which is given as a kind of header of a bloc result.
Maybe you could have a look into the description of the selafin file and try to generate your file with a python script or with a fortran program

regards
Christophe

Hi

I am afraid I was not clear. I create the mesh in blue kenue and I add two variables : wind along X and wind along Y, which initally are empty.
Then Using matlab tools (telheadw.m telstepw.m) I can pass the wind data into the sel file.
My problem is that I cannot pass the time step DT,into the updated file.

Best regards,
Nikos

Ok
The look into telstepw.m which is probably the origin of the problem.
I never use it also but when you write a telemac result the first information af each bloc is the time of the result...

Hello,

I think that the telstepw.m script uses the current time AT and not the time step DT. You should try to use it by incrementing it at each time step: m.AT = m.AT + m.DT.
m.AT is the time in seconds since your time origin stored in m.IDATE.

Laurent

I want to know that does tomawac reads the wind file created by matlab for the required duration of simulation?? As per the tomawac manual (v7p2r3) it only reads the selafin files created as a result of telemac run!! In that situation can somebody suggest about how tomawac can read the wind files generated through matlab (although the format is in selafin and it is having a particular time steps as well as a particular duration.)

Hi,

Tomawac can read both of them: wind file generated by a previous telemac2D simulation, or an home-made wind data file following the right selafin standards.
