hello

I launched a TOMAWAC simulation with a timestep of 1 sec for a nombre of 80 timesteps. but it seems that the computation is not done :

Hi
You're right. The simulation stopped probably due to a problem with your mesh. Check the element N°1.
To clarify
3 nodes compose this element: (X1,Y1), (X2,Y2) and (X3,Y3)
And the operation (X2-X1).(Y3-Y1)-(X3-X1).(Y2-Y1) gives a negative or null result.

Maybe you had a flat triangle with 2 merge nodes

Christophe

hello

I checked the mesh with matisse and it seems to be good. I send you my project. could tou tell me if it work on your computer ? Tha geom file is the geometry file and cas.conlim the boundary condition file.

Hello,

I ran Tomawac here on your case, and there is indeed a problem in the mesh : node 13 and node 15 have the same coordinates : 3.5 and 1.2, hence element 47 done with nodes 15, 252 and 13, has no area.

There is a parameter in Matisse stating the accuracy, it could be that two points in your data are too close and are lumped on the same one.

hi

Thank you for your help. I am a beginner with telemac and I don't know how to see the problem of the mesh (node 13 and 15). I have tested the mesh under matisse with the command "verifier maillage" and it returns "maillage correct". Moreover I don't know how to fix the mesh. How can I do to identify the node where my problem is and remove it ?

thanks

best regards

Hello,

Normally, if you have prescribed a criterion giving the mesh size, Matisse should not give you an element with area equal to zero. Maybe you can check if your criterion can possibly tend to 0, and in this case prescribe a minimum value. Otherwise our Matisse specialist will be here tomorrow morning and will have probably a more accurate advice to give you.

hello

for the criterion I have defined a function of the bathymetry, normally it can't be equal to zero. I tried with an other mesh (with a simpler criterion) and it seems to work. Unfortunately I have an other problem. In the post processor under fudaa, I can't see any change in the water level even if I put a Hs of 10 meters in boundary condition. I tried it with all the direction and it never shows anything else than 0 meters everywhere. Can you help me ?

best regards

Hello,

So send your case (only selafin file of geometry, boundary conditions file and parameter file) with the mesh that works and we'll have a look at it. I have only noticed so far that the key-word :

PROFONDEUR INFINIE : (yes or no)

is missing in your parameter file.

Hello,

I have tried, but this seems to be the same mesh as yesterday, with wrong element 47.
