Hello everyone,

I try to generate wind in a big harbor area, but I do not quite understand how we must format the files!

I've read the guide, Section 8 and Appendix 8, but is it that someone could send me a wind "WIND-WAM-Cycle" or another file, knowing that I try to make it simple with a stationary wind.

Best regards,

Hello,

I think the best would be to use a Selafin winds file format (Winds file format = 3), which will be the only option for the winds file format in the next version of Tomawac (with the user-defined format of course!).

Regards,

Elodie

Elodie thank you for your quick response!

Would you have a "Wind file type 3" to transmit to me to show me how to write this file?

Hello,

I have some winds files but I am not sure I am allowed to distribute them. Moreover, I don't think this would be of great support for you as these are binary files and you can only read them with a post-processing software (like fudaa for example). This format is the same as the one of your geometry file, so you probably already know it. Otherwise, you can find explanations about this binary format in the TELEMAC2D or TOMAWAC documentation.

Regards,

Elodie

hello,

Does someone could check my Wind files?

The number at the end of the file name corresponds to the format described in the help of TOMAWAC!

I have not found a sample file so the writing is surely wrong.

Regards

Hello,

You will find out all you need in the user manual (what the types 1,2 and 3 stand for). Wind file format = 3 means tomawac will read the file as a SERAFIN binary file ; its structure is described in the manual aswell. If you want a sample wind file you can download the validation cases : www.opentelemac.org/index.php/training-a.../107-validation-v6p1
