hi everyone,

I am trying to run wave-tide model in telemac, however, I have this error. I have tried decreasing the time step until 20 sec and changing the NOMBRE DE SOUS-ITERATIONS POUR LES TERMES SOURCES from 1 to 300(the cas file has the same time step and number of interaction as the tomawac cas file). Thanks in advanced

Hello,

NOMBRE MAX DE SOUS PAS : 90 is not an error message, it is just the number of sub time steps made by the method of characteristics. It seems to be fairly high in Tomawac. Generally it is high when there are very small depths, which should be avoided because a minimum ratio of wave length / depth is assumed in the theory (but I am not a specialist...).

With best regards,

Jean,

When I simulate the wave model with a time step of 900, i had that message with 4000. However, the simulation ran without problem. Now,the program stops after displaying that message. I checked my boundaries and they are 11-60 m depth.Should I increase the depth? Thanks in advanced

Hello,

Then I do not know. The depth is OK and you can put back :
NOMBRE DE SOUS-ITERATIONS POUR LES TERMES SOURCES = 1

A value of 300 will certainly stop the program for a while, because the time consuming part is the source terms, e.g. if there are non-linear interactions taken into account.

The version 6.3 will be released next week, so you may have another chance...

Hello,

The Mersey case and the turning wind have a different mesh, so it cannot work ?? If I remember well the turning wind is a case with 4 elements in the mesh...

hi,

I am only using the fortran file of the turing wind case. The mesh and de boudnary conditions are from Mersey case.
