Good Morning Costas,

I have set the time unit in winds file every hour, I tried to run the model over last night. Also, I set the same TIME-STEP, same GRAPHIC PRINT OUT PERIOD.... for both Telemac/and Towamac. The result I got is still the same as previous run :(, constant wind values for a whole period.

Best Regards

Huy

Goodmorning Huy,

Apart from the BOUNDARY DIRECTIONAL SPREAD that I would set to something closer to 2(but I doubt it is causing the problem with wind), I do not have further comments on your
steering file. I will need to look at the whole project.

Regards,
Costas

Dear Huy,

I have made some modifications to the steering file and it seems to work:

Hi Costas,

Thanks you for your support by looking my files in more details.

Could you please upload the Limac.f you have used? I tried to re-run the model, but missing that file (previously I used princi.f from Pat).

Thank you so much

Huy

You could use the one you already have, just change the name. I also attach my version which can also account for a continued computation, and interpolation between timesteps. I had to adapt it for the latest limwac.f from the trunk. I haven't tested it, so use it with caution.

I also noticed that the wave directions from the wave file, all seem to travel outside the domain, so boundary wave definition is pointless.

Great! I will try to re-run it now!

Three nights in a row I have not slept yet because of looking for the solution, and running the model

Regarding to the wave file, I will re-check again if I am wrong in converting the direction "going to" by "coming from" :P

Thanks & Best Regards

Bear in mind that TOMAWAC accepts wave directions as propagating *TO*.

Hope everything will sort out now and have some rest waiting for the model to finish. B)

Yeah, I know the model defines the direction as "GOING TO" but I was probably wrong in converting my input data.

Hopefully, there is no big trouble with my model until the rest because after the stand-alone tests, I have to run T2D model coupling with Tomawac

But anyway, I must say "big thanks" to you :P

Hi Costas,

Thanks for helping to get my model run. :P

It works for both V7 and V7.1. In V7.0 I have to add keyword: WINDS FILE FORMAT = 3, but V7.1 is not required.

Also, I have run a test with your modified limac (previous post), errors occured. Please see the attachment. Hopefully, you can fix it, so that we can use the updated one soon.

Best Regards

Huy

Hello Huy,

The limwac subroutine I sent you was working in my system. Did you modify it at all? The error you get is due to indentation. There must be only 5 spaces before the '&' character. If you made changes and can't sort it out, post it to get it fixed.

However, I strongly suggest that you learn at least some fortran basics because otherwise you won't get far with telemac!

Costas
