Hi,

I did exactly what is given in your instruction file but on a Win 7 -64 bit machine. I did use the 32-bit version of intel fortran compiler. Everything went well during the compilation. But when I run a case in parallel mode (multiple processors in localonly mode) the program crashed with some error message like unable to open some port etc etc.

I got silimar error before with version 6.0. Howerver, the scalar mode run with the newly compiled 6.1 version in the system. I haven't tried on WIN 7 -32 bit. Do you think it is the 64 bit mode that is crating the trouble?

Yes, the serial mode works fine. Let me know if you can get any success on parallel mode on WIN7 64 bit machines.

Hi Steve,
Thanks for your offer.
Right now i do not have the visual fortran compiler.
I downloaded your tutorail and saw that the installation method was the "perl" one (I migh be wrong). In an earlier message the telemac team adviced to wait for the Python installation procedure.
I hope in this procedure the telemac team will suggest some free fortran compilers that can be use.
Cheers
François

I installed telemac on my windows 7 pc with the intel visual fortran compiler. If you have this compiler then I may be able to help you out with the installation.

Hi Steve,
Thank you very much for your mediafire link and the installation procedure.
I followed your indications, but I face some problem in step 8 "Add the following under PATH".
I already have a variable called PATH. I tried to change the value with the paths you mentioned, but it seems that it just replaces the previous values. Furthermore, my machine is logged to a server, so i can create both "user variable" and "system variable". I tried with the "user variables" but it is maybe not correct.
After that, i executed the cfgmak, makeall90, and makepar90 commands, which gave me msg that "nmake is not recognized as an internal or external command".

Then, not surprisingly, when trying to launch a test case, telemac indicates "erreur a la compilation", with the mention "ifort.exe is not recognized as an internal or external command".

Could someone help me ?

Thank you in advance,
PL

On step 8, you have to append those lines to your path.
Have you installed Intel Fortran?
shoot me an email if you are still having problems

Hi Sébastien,
Any news about the python installation Guide?
Thanks
François

François,

The "document" is now a webpage with more details for windows users. It is the procedure for Perl users.

A similar document for Python users is soon to be published at the same location.

Hope this helps.
Sébastien.

Here we go ... I am sorry it took us so long ... here is the long awaited documentation for the installation procedure based on the python scripts. All comments welcomed.

Hope this helps.

Hi,
I tried to install Telemac by following the instructions but got an error message during compilation

Her is what i got.

Building the who calls who tree for GREDELMET_AUTOP and dependents
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
xilib.exe /nologo /out:C:\opentelemac\v6p1\parallel\parallel_v6p1\wintelmpi\parallelv6p1.lib p_exit.obj gredelmet_autop.obj
xilib: executing 'lib'
xilib: error spawn_errno_ENOENT: could not find 'lib'
xilib: error spawn_errno_default: spawn('C:\Intel\Compiler\Fortran\10.1.014\IA32\Bin\xilink.exe') failed, errno=0
I have a fortran compiler 10.1 installed on the computer i am using to compile.
If in the "systel.cis-windows.cfg" file i remove the "# ____/ windows intel parallel /___________________________________/" section then the compilation goes for while before stopping whith the same message above. In th mean time many *.obj files are created in various "wintels" subdirectories.
Any idea of what i am doing wrong?
Thanks
