open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

I am trying to setup Artemis so as to run in parallel. I have successfully compiled both the serial and parallel modules, however only the serial module is able to carry out computations. I have tried the creocean, bj78 and the reso_canal validation cases. In all of them the serial module runs but the parallel doesn't. I haven't installed MUMPS so I chose "3" for the solver.

I have tried a telemac2d validation case (malpasset) in parallel, and it runs without problems.

I attach the systel.cfg, the compilation output and the console output of the creocean case.







Any suggestions please?

Hi,

Everything seems fine in your config file.
Try removing the .exe file and rerun your test.
Because it seems to be using the .exe generated by the serial run.

I deleted the .exe file as you said and renamed the fortran file so that in the parallel it will compile with an extension different than the serial (and avoid a similar issue in the future).

However, the run was unsuccessful. Here is the console output:

Hello, today I managed to run the reso_canal case in parallel. This means that there isn't an installation problem and probably the model setup needs more investigation.

However, I discovered the following regarding the computer time:

Parallel (4 processors) using option "3" for the solver: 120s
Serial using option "3" for the solver: 237s
Serial using option "8" for the solver: 7s

So, in my opinion, if the parallel mode is to be used, MUMPS needs to be installed. I have downloaded the libraries but I haven't found information on how to install them. Can somebody provide help to install the using python?

Hello, can anybody provide some guidance on how to install MUMPS? It seems that the installation of MUMPS is not covered in detail in the available documentation.
