open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

Hello,
I am trying to use telemac3d and need to mask several elements. The .cas file works well if I deactivate "ELEMENTS MASKED BY USER =true". However, when I activate "ELEMENTS MASKED BY USER =true", then it displays a problem of " NOT IMPLEMENTED WITH OPERATION M=MSK(M)".

I might wanna know if it is available for telemac3d to apply mask3d? Many thanks.

Using ELEMENTS MASKED BY USER = TRUE or OPTION FOR THE TREATMENT OF TIDAL FLATS = 2 are not recommended as not mass-conservative (OPTION FOR THE TREATMENT OF TIDAL FLATS = 2 is replaced by 1 in case of parallel runs by the way). Masking is not possible in release v8p2r0 for some options (e.g. MURD advection schemes).

Anyway, you can try to include the enclosed file. Can you tell me if it runs for you please, I do not have relevant examples. It may help to run your simulation but I would not recommend you to use these options.

I have included your code, and it is good that it will not report an error even when I activated the mask function.

But now the problem is that it cannot mask the elements I defined, actually, I have masked several elements in front of a pier, but you can check the picture I attached, and it shows that it is not in effect.

The code I sent may be wrong, it is a little bit tricky to implement this feature for the needed storage.

Can you upload your geometry file, boundary conditions file and Fortran file so that I can test your case please?

Keep in mind that masking element is a numerical trick to avoid the computation inside these elements but the result file doesn't know if elements are masked or not...
The values of masked elements in the result file should be the initial values and those values shouldn't evolve in time...
