hi everyone,

I have a question in two steps: how to manage bathymetry in telemac from bleuKenue to steering file (with Fudaa)
- first, I created two geometric (selafin) files with BleuKeneu, one using positive values of the bathymetry
geom_with_pos_val.png

and the other using negative (the opposite values of previous values) values.
geom_with_neg_val.png

In 3d view in BleuK the aspect of my area (chanel) is more suitable and real with the negative values than the positive ones.
- second, when I tried to run simulations with the positive value, I got an error about vertical profile or
ERROR_VELOCITY_PROFILE.png

.... but the simulation run complete when I use the geometric file with negative values of bathymetry even if I dont have/get expected results (a permanent regime). this is my steering files with positive bathy

and with negative bathy

and the boundary condition file for neg...

Hi,

Bathymetry should be specified as an elevation (as in your second screenshot). If you are using a local vertical datum (ie. the bank/shore of your domain is at 0m) then the z values of nodes in your bathymetry will have negative values.

Hope this helps... Martin
