Hi,

I was wondering if there are any existing sub-routines that printout running averages of flow velocities.

My simulation time step is pretty small (0.25s) and I have set the graphic printout period to 30 seconds for avoiding a extremely large 3D results file. This, however, did not really reflect some of the transient features of the flow that I expect. As such I would like to obtain the moving average velocities of (let's say) every 30 seconds or even perhaps every 5 mins.

Do you have any advice on this issue?

Thanks in advance!

Hello,

To my knowledge, no suche moving average is implemented in the sources of TELEMAC-3D.

Anyway, you can try to implement it, e.g. in USER_PRERES_TELEMAC3D subroutine and save your moving averages in private variables (see e.g. where to store in P1, P2, P3 or P4 variables in VARIABLES FOR 3D GRAPHIC PRINTOUTS keyword + section 11.4 in the TELEMAC-3D user manual + cone example).

Hope this helps,

Chi-Tuan
