Hi all,

I'm working on a TELEMAC3D model, V8P0R0.
I have 2 sources (). I would like to print the tracer concentration results in the 2D and 3D results, but it doesn't work.

In the telemac3d_user_v8p0.pdf manual, it says to use the keywords :
VARIABLES FOR 2D GRAPHIC PRINTOUTS: TA1, TA2
VARIABLES FOR 3D GRAPHIC PRINTOUTS: TA1, TA2

I can't get the tracer results into my graphical output.

I've tried with just one tracer:
VARIABLES FOR 2D GRAPHIC PRINTOUTS= U,V,B,H,S,Q,W,L,M,US,TA
VARIABLES FOR 3D GRAPHIC PRINTOUTS= Z,U,V,W,TA

I've tried with just one tracer only ...


Have you any idea about where is my mistake ?

Hello Laurie,

If it is written TA1 in the user manual, why do you write just TA without the number of tracer? If only modelling 1 tracer, you have to write TA1 (see also many examples).

I tried TA, and TA1.
It doesn't change anything :/

I ran an example. In this case, the tacer is printed.

That's why I think I missed something important.

Indeed, something important is missing in your steering file, the basis when modelling tracers: the NUMBER OF TRACERS! This keyword activates if you model tracers or not. If not, you cannot write any results dealing with tracers in particular.

I hadn't added the following 2 keywords:
NUMBER OF TRACERS           = 1
INITIAL VALUES OF TRACERS   = 0.0

In the example, there are :
NUMBER OF TRACERS = 1
DENSITY LAW : 4
BETA EXPANSION COEFFICIENT FOR TRACERS = 0.0003
STANDARD VALUES FOR TRACERS = 0.0
INITIAL VALUES OF TRACERS = 0.0
COEFFICIENT FOR HORIZONTAL DIFFUSION OF TRACERS = 0.01
COEFFICIENT FOR VERTICAL DIFFUSION OF TRACERS = 1.E-6
SCHEME FOR ADVECTION OF TRACERS : 13
ACCURACY FOR DIFFUSION OF TRACERS = 1.E-11


I think I have all needed information.

Hi all,

I still have difficults with my modele.
I succed to run it when I only impose negative discharge source. But I need to impose negative discharge for some sinks, and positive discharge for sources.

In this example, if I use "1.23", it doesn't work, but it's ok with "-1.23".
Why ?

Elevation for the positive source (1.23) looks suspicious (5.2, positive, while all other are negative).
