Dear All,
I have been working on and off on validating TELEMAC 3D/2D for solving ADR (Advection-Dispersion-Reaction) equation in a channel flow. After lots of trial and trying different things now I get a very good result for both TELEMAC-2D and 3D. Please see the attached plot.
For the sake of clarity I would define the problem again. A channel of 11.4 km is given with a depth of 10 m and width 50 m. The simulation is conducted for 3 days on 24 processors. Channel is having uniform velocity of 0.03 m/s in streamwise direction. For the first 6 hrs of the simulation 30 mg/l of a reactive tracer is fed into the channel having a decay constant of 1/day.
Once again the plot shows the results with HEC-RAS, TELEMAC-2D and TELEMAC-3D. Also attached is the user code for both 2D and 3D case as well as steering file used.
Finally I have a question, if I want to assign a constant settling velocity to the tracer (But I don't want to treat it as sediment) how can I do that ? And how can I access the quantity dC/dz where C is the tracer and z is the vertical coordinate.
Thanks for all the help.
Best regards,
Sumit
