Hello,

I want to create a trapezoidal 3d geometry. So, what should I do to make the parallel plans become larger by increasing in height??

Take a look at the diagram attached. It is more explicit.

Thank you in advance.

Hi
It could be great if you take some time to read the manual before posting such questions (which is also probably answered somewhere in the forum)

The mesh for telemac2d or telemac3d is the same!
If you want to represent a trapezoidal chanel, you should represent it in 2D with slope in the bathymetry on each side.
In 3d, there are various possibility to configurate the location of plane but in all case, a plane is allways similar to the 2d mesh, only the level of the plane changing
If there is no water on the side of your channel, the plane are merged.

Christophe

Precisely Mr. COULET, would you believe that I have read the manual, and from what I understood that telemac3d take part shown below as bottom border while I want it to be my side wall because it has a different roughness than the bottom.

By cons telemac3d takes the surface shown below which is between black and blue lines as a side wall, and assigns the conditions of the blue part which is the wall in 2D to this side wall.

In addition, when my inclined wall at its upper point has a rating of 154 meters and I want my free surface is at odds of 152 meters I get the following error:

It only works unless I go to a higher rating to 154 meters.
Can you help me Mr. COULET.

Best regards.

Hello,

You can do this case with imposed horizontal planes, though having elements with no volume is always difficult: you need to have :

TIDAL FLATS : YES
TREATMENT OF TIDAL FLATS : 1
TREATMENT OF NEGATIVE DEPTHS : 2

In your case the problem is that you have negative depths, I wonder why, is it due to the initial conditions you set ? I thought that everywhere this was controlled, it is in the original subroutine CONDIM, so I am not sure to understand what happens. You can see in subroutine calcot.f how the 3D mesh is constructed, it seems that this subroutine receives a negative depth.
