Hello all,

I´ve being trying to run a 3d simulation but I keep running into this error message and I do not know how to pass by it. The error is attached and so is my Steering file.

This is the first simulation on v6p2 and the steering file is based on a previous one for v6p1. This should´t be the problem but maybe I´m just not able to see it.

If anyone can help I would very much appreciate.

Best regards,
Marcus

Hi,

Are you able to run any of the validation cases for telemac3d v6p2? You can download them from the repository. It is also possible that your steering file is not compatible with v6p2 because of the new features added.

Costas

Hello,

I´ve tried to run the validation cases and they worked, that´s the reason why I´m seeking for help right now. I´m gonna double check my steering file in order to find the problem but I also have attached my steering file. If anyone have the time I would more definally apreciate the help finding the problem.

Thank you very much,
Marcus

Hi Marcus,

I will have a look at it tomorrow, but in the meantime, try to find if there exist incompatible keywords between v6p1 and v6p2 in your steering file.

Hi Costas,

Thank you. I´ve checked all the keywords i´m using and they still are the same in the new version, so this shound´t be the issue,

Good morning Marcus,

Can you uncomment the "DEBUGGER = 1" option, run again and post the error message?

Hello Costas,

I uncommented the "DEBUGGER" and it doesn´t work. TELEMAC doesn´t even start to run so te debugger can´t start debugging.

I had a thought that my mesh might be too fine because the error is just below the memory allocation. I created a coarser mesh and it is running so I think the problem was that my mesh was way to refined.

I´m gonna remake the denser mesh in order to see if my theory is correct.

Thank you for your time
Marcus

OK, that's good. Have a look at this thread:

How to make different type of mesh(fine, coarse) in a single study area

It will give you some tips on how to create a mesh with variable element size depending oh the water depth. It will make your mesh more cpu efficient.
