open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

Hello everybody,

I was using the telemac3d version 6.1 and recently I started to use v6.2. However, when I use continued computations option with version 6.2 where the previous computation file is produced from version 6.1 the telemac can not read the previous results correctly ( for example inflow = NaN).

Do anyone have a solution for such problem.

As version 6.3 will be issued in a few days now, I would suggest that you skip version 6.2 and wait for the next one. I remember that we corrected one bug for computation continued in 3D, but it should have been done in version 6.2 as well (though I am not totally sure and this could be your problem, I'll check next Monday and will report on this).

after many trials I found that this problem much dependent on the advection scheme, actually only with the method of characteristics the simulation can be continued with results of old version

That's it! This bug has not been fixed in version 6.2R1. You need to modify subroutine telemac3d.f and add between line 460 and 461 (before block IF(SEDI...) the following line :

IF(NTRAC.GT.0) CALL OS('X=Y ',X=TAN,T=TA)

I tried it but unfortunately it did not help. And I found that the same statement is already there in the same subroutine in line 410
