Could this have a problem in MPICH2 installation ?

It has been a long time -- sorry for the late answer. You may have moved on a new version since.

Just in case, the partitioning in v6p1 was done in serial mode. Your problem therefore does not come from MPICH2. However, the partitioning depends on the external library METIS. The usual problem with it is that it needs to be compile with the compiler you are using with the rest of the system.

Hopefully this will helps. Moving onto v6p3 would be ideal though.

Note that usually we are supporting the latest version and the previous version. v6p1 is starting to be outdated.
