Dear Users,

Could anyone help me please with stratification case I am trying to run. I am happy with stratification results but I have some crazy elevation in some parts of domain what I cannot understand the cause of it. I have not waves, wind or tides in my case, just three stratified layers in closed area with one open boundary, which is set up with prescribed UV. The elevation I cas see is around 10 metres. I probably made a mistake in my cas file. Could anyone please put me into right direction. I attaché cas, fortran, output file and some figures with results that show elevation. I just need to get the simple case with stratification working correctly before I add other parameters. Thank you.

Kind Regards!

Violeta

Hello,

Can you show us what you mean by oscillation with a picture ?

It is possible that VELOCITY PROFILE = 1 opposes your FRICTION terms. Could you impose a discharge instead and let TELEMAC develop the vertical profile ?

Hope this help.
Sébastien.

Hello Sebastien,

Thanks for your reply. Looks like my problem is gone. I had a problem at an open boundary, so for my latest cases I have started to use Prescribed H as boundary conditions and Constant Elevation as initial conditions and there is no crazy elevation anymore. I will keep my eyes if it happens again, but it all looks fine for the moment. Thanks again.

Kind Regards!

Violeta
