open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

I was trying to run artemis. I am getting message insufficient virtual memmory
Could any one help me to solve this issue?

Hello,

Direct solvers create massive matrices, hence the memory requirement.

You either need a computer with a bigger RAM, or you need to switch to an iterative solver (SOLVER = 3, for instance) as opposed to trying solving it directly.

Do not forget that you can also run in parallel with the iterative solver.

What could be minimum ram required for running on direct solver? 8GB/16GB?

Hello,

It depends on your problem size (mesh).
For reference, a mesh of 1,700,000 elements would takes up to 6Gb.
