Hello all,
I am trying to use Psed for the simple sediment transport modelling.
I have some question regarding the properties and parameters that need to be specified before launching the simulations.
Please have a look at the attached images.
The hydrodynamic components I am using (depth and velocity) is the result of three days simulation. and I need to see the result in both ebb and flood tide.
How ever not sure for example for the time step or run duration which value I need to consider. Considering time step =5 sec and 3 days of hydrodynamic simulation, if I choose 10 mins time step how it might affect the accuracy of result.
The parameters I am bit confused of what values need to be defined are as follows:
For the simulation:
1- time step:
2-Run duration

Sediment configurations:
1- Parcel Mass
2- initial elevation
3- flux duration
4- flux kg/sec
5- parcel count

Your help is very much appreciated,
SANAZ

Hi sanaz,

What I understand is that the timestep of your PSED is irrelevant to your hydrodynamic model output such as current and depth, however, your duration should be in the range of the frame of your input duration unless for the steady-state condition.

Hello guys.
Do you know where can I find more information about PSed? I have read the manual that comes along bluekenue, but Idl to know more about the model. Is it freeware? If not, where can I look for more information about that? How to buy it, install it and etc..

Thanks in advance,

Jose

Hi,

The model is part of BlueKenue which developed and supported by NRC Canada. you can create new model from File-> New->PSEDRun at the very bottom of the list, then you will introduce ( insert) your hydrodynamic parameters such as bathymetry and current ( speed) and also the sediment characteristics.
After the model prepared, then you can run simulation through Run->Launch simulation
Hope this may help!
