Dear friends
Excuse me, can I interpolate the thickness of sediment layer like terrain interpolation in bluekenue? I.e. setting the erodible thickness.
What do the keywords FOND, FROTTEMENT, SURFACE LIBRE and HAUTEUR D'EAU mean in newSelafin? I haven't found the relevant explanation in the user manual. Please let me know.
Best wishes

If I were to make a guess (using Google's French to English translation) I'd say:
FOND = BOTTOM
FROTTEMENT = FRICTION
SURFACE LIBRE = FREE SURFACE
HAUTEUR D'EAU = WATER HEIGHT

But since I don't speak French very well, take that with a grain of salt.

Kindly... Alan

Excuse me, are these different from the previous bottom, bottom frication, free surface and water depth in physical sense? Or is it just French expression?
thank you

The correct definition of these variable names and ALL available variable names are defined by Telemac (not Blue Kenue). Therefore, it would be better asked in the Telemac 2D section of the forum for their meanings. OR... perhaps check the Telemac 2D documentation.

That being said, I would suspect that they are the French translations of the same.

Can Blue Kenue interpolate the erosion thickness to the grid?

I'm not an expert in erosion or anything like that. So, can you explain the data objects that you are using in Blue Kenue? I'm assuming a 3D grid and I'd like you to confirm. Perhaps you are doing or trying to do something else; such as starting from a 2D grid.

Also, what kind of interpolation are you expecting? Can you give an example?

Kindly... Alan

Thank you for your reply.
I want to interpolate the erosion thickness on the 2d grid, just like interpolating the terrain on the grid. What areas of the grid can be eroded and where can't be eroded? I want to show this effect, mainly through slf files.
Best regards

I did a search for "interpolation" and "interpolate" in Blue Kenue 3.12.25 - beta's Reference Manual. Surprisingly, I did not see what I was expecting to find. I will have to fix that for people having this question in the future.

More to your point... try File > New > 2D Interpolator... and see if that gets you where you want to go.

Sometimes it is also worth looking through the history of questions and posts because you may find additional information that can help you.
