Hi,

I would like to interpolate bathymetry (linear interpolation with a point set) on a line set (in using i2s and i3s line set file formats for example) with BlueKenue.
I wanted to map a 2D Interpolator on a 3D line set (I tested also on a 2D line in hoping that it could be transformed into 3D through the interpolation) with : Tools > Map Object but there was no 2D interpolator in the available objects list.
Can my problem be solved by another way? Is the implentation of this feature planned?

I found two "alternative solutions":
* the use of an intermediate very refined mesh on which a 2D interpolator is mapped. And then this refined mesh can be mapped on the line set.
* or the use of a point set instead of a line set
But these methods are definitely not the most suitable ones, because they require several steps or/and scripts to achieve my initial need.

Thanks in advance for any advice,
Luc

Dear Lux,

first, you need use the 2D Interpolatro...

and then draw the .xyz point to it.
then right click it choose the method (for me, I like to use Inverse Distance)

then OK.

For the mesh interpretor, first choose the mesh, you need to interpretor, then Tools/Map object...
then choose the Interpolator2D

then OK.

Thank you harryyao for your answer and the illustration.
I know how to create a 2D interpolator and to map it on a point set or a mesh.
But what I would like to know is: to map on a line set. After drawing a line (open or closed), I would like to map a 2D Interpolator on this object. But it seems that a 2D Interpolar cannot be mapped on a line (because there is any 2D interpolation in the available ojects which can be mapped).
Could someone confirm this?

Hi Luc,

I can confirm that extracting a cross section from the virtual surface of a 2Dinterpolator object (ie. mapping from the interpolator to a lineSet) is not implemented in Blue Kenue.

I'll add this as a feature request.

Sorry... Martin
