Hello

I have some trouble to generate a big mesh (about 800k-nodes). The project contains:
-density areas (all fixed to 4m so far)
-channel meshes for all the main channel (elements are 4mx2m)
- harlines (34 islands)
- softlines (for some weirs)

I asked for a mesh with a (see figure)
- default edge of 5 m
- edge growth ratio of 1.15 (I tried 1.2 also)
- I resampled the outline with dx=5m

The resulting mesh is awful
can you tell me:
1- what is wrong with my model ?
2- what is the order of priority of these criteria

This will save my time (more than 6h to generate one single mesh)
Thank you
Riadh

Hello Riadh

did you resample also the hardlines?
It seems to me that the manual contain a description of the priority for the nodes when you build a mesh.

Maybe you should post the t3m file, in order to allow us if we found something...

Kind regards
Christophe

Hello Christophe

Yes I resampled everything finely.
The model is confidential and I can not diffuse it.
Thank you anyway.
Kind regards

Riadh

Hi Riadh,

UTM coordinates or other Cartesian systems might have an impact on the quality of the mesh depending on how fine is the mesh. You might want to translate everything to a local coordinate system.
Unfortunately without the t3m file, it's really hard to comment.
Cheers, Julien
