Hi all,

Upon opening files up in BlueKenue I receive an error message: "unkown or invalid file format." I've also tried Tecplot 360 and receive similar messages: ""invalid file format", "error on loading file",and "error loading the file".

The file format is selafin. I've not had this problem before when using selafin files. The only thing I've changed in my *.cas file is a roughness coefficient.

Does anyone know of why this may happen? My simulations tend to run ~12 hours so i'd rather not have to run them again!

Hi Simon,

The error message is clear.
There is something wrong with the file.
What is the full text of the error message?

There are a couple of possibilities
1. Perhaps it has been not been fully written yet. Blue Kenue can
read partial slf files but as a minimum the mesh geometry and the first
data record must exist.
2. Perhaps the file has been overwritten by another process.

This is impossible to diagnose without more info including a copy
of the file.
