open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

The upcoming XXth TELEMAC-MASCARET Users Conference will take place on the 17th and 18th October 2013 at BAW in Karlsruhe, Germany. Workshops will be organised the day preceeding the conference (Wednesday 16th October).

You can vote for your favourite training/workshop topic in the poll above, and add a new request in this forum discussion (option 5). Up to 3 votes per person is allowed. The poll is open until the 1st September 2012. Once you have voted, you will be able to see the current results.

Any comment or suggestion is welcome.

Besides the generation and quality of a mesh, it would be really interesting to have some explanation on how the mesh size/resolution or the shape of the triangles affect the model results. A different mesh resolution will affect for example the parameters: velocity diffusivity and tracer diffusivity.

I had a problem with applying salinity as a tracer to a 2Dh model. The tracer behaved totally different when I increased the resolution of my mesh drastically.
Sometimes you have a large model of for example an estuary, and you want to focus some research to a particular place. The nice thing about Telemac is that you can cut out a part of the mesh and replace this with a higher resolution mesh. The question then is what is the effect of the change in mesh resolution on the model performance?

Concerning the “Numerical options of TELEMAC” workshop we would like to ask the people who participate in the workshop to give us an idea, in which topics they are interested. Jean-Michel Hervouet, who will present this workshop, provided us with a list from which we would like you to choose your favourite topics.
