Hello,

I am trying to run a steady flow simulation but I apparently have a segmentation problem (you will find attached the screenshot of the error). Can anyone tell me where this problem might come from?

Thanks in advance !

Hi

Sorry for the late reply.
It's difficult to say with only this screenshot.
There is some listing file available which could give more information or you could also join the project file (zipped) in order to let us investigate the problem

Hi

The segmentation problem occur when Mascaret try to read the initial condition file which is not required for a permanent simulation...
I suppose you tried to run some non permanent simulation before and the interface has a kind of "bug" and remain the previous choice.
To solve this problem, you should change the kernel to unsteady one, go to initial condition and select NO to initial water line.
Then you could change again the kernel to permanent and run the simulation.

Hi,

Thanks for your reply, but I don't understand exactly what you just explained as the initial conditions' tab isn't even activated for the steady simulation in the Mascaret version that I have : 3.6 (you will see what I mean in the screenshot attached).

Thank you for your help.

Best regards

I know that that's why I wrote you should first change the computation kernel to the unsteady one!
This allow you to access to the initial condition tab and then change the parameter.
After this change, you could come back to the permanent kernel, the initial condition tab will be inactivated but the value behind will be correct...
I admit this is a little bit complex and the logic would probably be to automatically change the parameter in case of permanent simulation but this will take some time to produce a new version...
