Hello,

I'm trying to run a river model on Fudaa-Mascaret.

I've just one branch but with sevral cross-section (>100).

For the upstream, I put a hydrograph and for the dowstream, I choose a water level.

Up to that, it's ok. But when the simulation is finished, I've just a message without error but... without results too.

If someone can help me, thank you !

Here the .masc file

PS: I'm a beginner on Mascaret. Maybe I forgot something very important in the parameter before the simulation.

The file seems to be not attached to my previous message,

I can send it by mail if someone can help me.

Hi Adcarp

I suggest you have a look at this previous post
Fudaa-Mascaret-1D: Not actived "Graphs" in menu "Results"
link

I don't think that you can attach a binary file (which the *.masc is) in a post here. You can zip it and then attach it to your post.

Best regards
Julien

Hello,

Thank you for your fast reply.

I looked the topic. I don't have "fin correcte du calcul" and in the computation kernel, it's written " MASSE D'EAU INITIALE DANS LE DOMAINE (HORS STOCKAGE) : 0.2288694E+08 M3".

I don't think it's a problem with the size of the result file.

Maybe my initial conditions are wrong, aren't they ?

Second try with a .zip file :

After testing several things, I've got a error now.

There is a problem to convert my initial water level.
It's written that parameter conversion is null.

Hi
I had a look at your *.masc file.
I tried first to run it in steady mode.
This raised a message pointing to your last cross-section where the imposed water level seems to be below the ground level. Which is confirmed by manual examination.

I suggest you modify your downstream boundary condition.

Julien

Thank you !

I changed it.

The simulation seems to work for the steady mode.

I'm waiting for the results.

Then I will try for the transcritical flow.

Adrien

So after running it with steady flow, it was written that transcritical node was needed.

After modifying some things especially the adding of "walls" for cross section and the improvement of my initial water level, now the error comes from the planimetry. I don't know how to adjust it. For me, the value is correct.

I've found the problem. I put a hydrograph instead of a limnihydrograph for the upstream condition (necessary for the transcritical node).

If I have other problems, I will post here.

The Steady engine supports supercritical flows. So the log file will say when there is supercritical flow but the engine will not complain about it.

Having had a look again at your masc file, I am not sure if you can start with a zero discharge without activating the dam-break flood wave option.
