I am modelling a river reach that ends with 2 cross sections being covered up. But these sections also have piles (to support the concrete cover over the river).
Some errors develop at these cross-sections and I get lots of NaN in the results.
I have represented the closed top of the cross section using the Preisman slot approach (similar to what I get when using the wizard to create a simple culvert section), but I also have included the piles as shown in the figure below.



I then tried to make the top of the cross section not horizontal, thinking that the top of the piles intersecting with the cover might cause trouble, see figure below. However that didn't prevent the errors to happen.



How would you advise me to treat these cross sections ?

Oh, and I forgot to say that the simulation ran absolutely fine before I added the cover on the last 2 cross-sections.

You should try with one Preisman slot by arches. See below. It should work.
