open TELEMAC-MASCARET The mathematically superior suite of solvers

Hello,

I was wondering if anyone proficient in Tecplot 360 would be able to help me resolve the following. When I try and load Telemac .slf outputs into Tecplot 360 (2016) I often get the error:

"error reading trail bytes"

When attempting to load the contour I get:

"Cannot load contour. Invalid plot type or contour variable assigned."

When I use "Probe To Create Time-series Plot" I get:

"Unable to load variable from xx.slf"

Oddly the above error happens often, but not all the time. I'm using the Tecplot 2016 add-on.

I don't suppose anyone knows the source of this error? I've so far failed to find it!

Thanks to Antoine I managed to work with data-sets that produce this error. The error stems from the last time-step being corrupted and thus the Tecplot is unable to perform calculations for mind/max on the the last variable.

For posterity, Antoine provided the below work around:

- Starting an empty Tecplot session, load your data file (discard the error message about reading trail bytes)
- Go to the Data->Delete->Zone, select your last time step (Zone 524) and click Delete
- You are now able to work with your dataset.
