Hi all,

With PostTelemac for QGIS we have a great tool for Postprocessing now.

For the meshing I still rely on BlueKenue. I saw some people using GlobalMapper for the meshing - not for Telemac though. Has anyone already used GlobalMapper for Preprocessing? Is there a way to get the mesh more or less directly from GlobalMapper into the Telemac-Simulation, without using BlueKenue?

Hello,

At the company we do have a license of GlobalMapper but unfortunatly I haven't have the chance to use it as mainly QGIS/Arcgis/Python(GDAL) is enough...

We haven't been able to "replace" or remove the usage of Bluekenue, even when using another mesher like ChEsher, SMS, triangle... and mapping variables with another tool; SELAFIN and CLI file creation is done always using Bluekenue (tried FUDAA but we didn't like it...).

If you are only interested in the meshing/variable mapping process, find a "common" formatted file between GlobalMapper mesh and BK (like SMS's *.2dm) and use BK just for a tiny part as we do.

the other option is to create a Python script that takes the mesh from globalmapper, and pack it to an SLF...but definitly don't know what to do with the boundary condition file...

José Díaz.
