Hello Forum!

I have results from Postel3D (horizontal cross-sections) that I try to visualize in QGIS application PostTelemac. I would like to view the velocities as arrows under "velocity viewer". It works fine until I define the desired coordinate system, where all arrows just vanish.

The contour viewer still works fine though. Do you have any ideas why the velocity arrows disappear?

Kind regards, schmirre!

hello,

try using the matplotlib display type (which in my view should be default).

Hope this helps,

Sébastien.

Thank you Sébastien for your fast reply.

Perhaps a stupid question, but how do I change display type? Matplotlib show up as succesfully loaded in the PostTelemac application.

Thanks, schmirre!

Hi
Even matplotlib is well loaded, the latest version of PostTelemac use an openGL display mode by default. You could change this in the main windows where there is a dedicated button...
Nevertheless, it's strange if it works well in a default coordinate system and disappear in the right one.
Could it be a problem of scale of the arrow?
Are the values of velocity components OK?

Regards
Christophe

Hi!

I actually couldn't find the dedicated button, but anyhow that does not seem to be the problem.

I think, just like you said c.coulet, that the problem could be the scale of the arrow. The arrows actually appear on my map when I choose to view "all the points", but the arrows are totally overscaled, even when I set the "length for 1m" to its minimum value of 0.01 m. See attached picture!

Any ideas?

Many thanks, schmirre

Hi
You don't use the latest version of the plugin so you cannot see the openGL option.
What is your coordinate system?

Ah I see, will try and update then.

My coordinatesystem is WGS 84 / UTM zone 34N (EPSG 32634).

Update: tried with the most recent version. However, switching to matplotlib as rendered did not solve my problem.

Ok
Could you post the result file (at least the last time step) in order to let us try and maybe debug?

Regards
Christophe
